Madison High School grad runs Web site for students

TOLEDO, Ohio — You could call it Dane’s List, but 2006 Madison High School graduate Dane Theisen calls his online marketplace MyCollegeStuff.net.

“I’ve never used Craig’s List,” said Theisen, referring to that other guy’s famous Web site, which is best-known for its free classified ads.

For six months, Theisen, 21, a senior at the University of Toledo, has been running a Web site that allows college students to sell and buy textbooks, furniture, electronics, cars, music and other items.

“I was talking with some buddies,” Theisen said of the genesis of his new business. “We were all just kind of spinning some ideas and I came up with this idea.

“I was just really tired of buying a $100 book and getting $50 back for it (at the book store).”

The Web site has been University of Toledo-focused, but Theisen wants to expand to other colleges in Michigan or Ohio. Some day he hopes it could expand nationally. Read the entire article at :
